WHAT HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED:
JMEC has been structural engineer for many new residential buildings around the San Francisco Bay Area. Typical services included preliminary design, final design, construction documents and permits support. JMEC has provided construction support services, including shop drawing review and providing structural observations per UBC.
The example project shown was a custom-built two-story wood-framed building with a gross 4,314 SF. It was rebuilt after the fire of 1990 in Oakland. Drilled piers with grade beams have been used to provide good foundation on a steep slope. Timber trusses have been used in the living room to span large area to suit the architectural requirements.
